Meet Scorpion

The tableau has seven columns. Four complete King-to-Ace runs clear the game. Scorpion on eea355ea.com uses one 52-card deck with four suits. Moves build down in the same suit rather than allowing cross-suit destinations.

Read the opening cards

Here are the details for this mode. All cards in the last three columns are face up. Three cards remain in the stock. Each opening column contains seven cards for a total of 49 tableau cards. The first three cards in each of the first four columns are face down.

Check rank and suit together

A few details help explain this feature. A seven of hearts can land on an exposed eight of hearts. A King cannot land on another card because no higher rank exists. A moved group's leading card must land on a card exactly one rank higher in the same suit. A seven of hearts cannot land on an eight of spades.

Move exposed groups

A few details help explain this feature. The selected cards do not need to descend in rank to travel together. Any face-up card can be selected together with every card beneath it. The leading selected card still has to meet the destination rule. The selected cards do not need to share a suit to travel together.

Only Kings fill empty space

A few details help explain this feature. An empty column accepts a King or a group led by a King. Cards beneath a moved King do not need to be in sequence. A group led by a lower rank cannot enter an empty column. An empty column is therefore less flexible than an empty column in ordinary Spider.

Uncover another choice

Removing all face-up cards above a hidden card turns that hidden card face up. An exposed card can carry the cards beneath it when its own destination is legal. The next hidden card is revealed automatically. Undo restores the earlier hidden-card arrangement when the move is reversed.

The final three cards

The following details apply here. This Scorpion version permits its stock deal when columns are empty. There are no further stock cards after the three-card deal. The stock contains one final deal of three cards. Dealing places a face-up card on each of the first three columns.

Complete a suit

The following details apply here. Moving an unordered group does not make that group a completed sequence. All thirteen cards in a collected run must be face up. A completed run must descend from King to Ace in one suit. The game removes a qualifying run automatically from the bottom of a column.

Practice Scorpion decisions

The following details apply here. Checking the whole moved group helps you anticipate what will become blocked. Hint lists legal choices without promising a winning continuation. Replay and Undo let you explore another approach to the same layout. A move can carry unwanted cards along with a useful leading card.
